Mullen-Hall Elementary School

About Mullen-Hall Elementary School

Address: 130 Katharine Lee Bates Rd, Falmouth, MA 02540

The home of the community-built Village Science playground, Mullen-Hall Elementary School for grades K-4 was fully renovated in 2001-2002 after the community voiced its support for maintaining a school in downtown Falmouth rather than building new in another part of town. With its entrance off Katharine Lee Bates Road, across from the Falmouth Public Library, the original school was two separate buildings (the Mullen building and the Hall building). The cupola from the old Hall building now sits on the southwest corner of the property; the garden beds there are maintained by the Falmouth Garden Club. The school grounds also include a walking track and child-size basketball court, in addition to the very popular playground and the Mullen-Hall School Garden, at the back of the property. A walking path between the school and Shivericks Pond takes the place of the former Hamlin Avenue, which was moved when the school renovation took place.
