Leonard Fonseca Park

About Leonard Fonseca Park

This town ballfield at the corner of Fresh Pond and Alexander Booker Roads in East Falmouth is named for Corporal Leonard J. Fonseca, an East Falmouth native who was killed during World War II when his B-24 bomber crashed on the island of Terceira in the Azores in August, 1944. The playground was dedicated to the young soldier in 1949.

Fresh Pond Road stretches north from East Falmouth Highway to Carriage Shop Road. The park is at the end on the left, just before the intersection with Carriage Shop Road.
