Marshlands

About Marshlands

A former fishing camp that was converted to a nature study camp sits on seven acres above Great Sippewissett Marsh in West Falmouth. The property is owned by Salt Pond Areas Bird Sanctuaries, Inc.

Public access is permitted, but only on foot, from behind the West Falmouth Post Office, across the Shining Sea Bikeway and along Quahog Pond Lane through the conservation land's old wooden gate.

A trail circumnavigates the open field area, and the loop trail into the scrubby woods skirts briars and crosses stone walls. An offshoot leads to the edge of the Great Sippewissett Marsh (a favorite spot of great blue herons) and magnificent views to the south.
