Join walk leaders Alex Lancaster and Marcy Klattenberg for the first-ever “public” exploration of the new trails here! One of T3C’s newest acquisitions, and the largest, the 70 acres of Shallow Pond Woodlands are home to abundant natural resources. Pondfront, wetlands (including a vernal pool), a variety of habitats and stands of tall white pines are all features of this lovely, unspoiled woods. Shallow Pond links on two sides to Town-owned conservation areas, the 46.4-acre Wald & Fender property to the north and the 67.3-acre Breivogel Ponds Conservation Area to the west. Combined, the three parcels provide 183.4 acres of permanently protected open space for conservation, water protection and passive recreation.
