About Bay Road
Among The 300 Committee’s top priorities are water protection and linkage of conservation parcels. The purchase in 2007 of a 2.7-acre parcel on Bay Road, North Falmouth meets both criteria. The property has 150 feet of frontage on Cedar Lake and contains part of a cedar swamp; to the north, it abuts 10 acres protected by a conservation restriction. Nye Park, owned by the town, lies on the other side of the 10 acres.
Lenore Howe sold the property at well below the appraised value. Her husband’s family acquired the land in 1962; it was originally subdivided by the Megansett Shores Corporation in the 1940s.
