How It Works. Children aged 3-12 set a goal to walk their age in miles in Falmouth’s conservation lands, so 5-year-olds walk five miles, etc. Children keep track of their mileage and earn a prize when they reach their goal.

The Prizes. Children present their completed mileage log at either Ghelfi’s Candies for a free ice cream cone, or at Eight Cousins bookstore for a free “Who Was” biography book. Both stores are on Main Street in Falmouth.

Acknowledgement. Children/parents email a photo of the completed mileage sheet (along with their mailing address) to saveland@300committee.org and receive a handwritten congratulatory note and several nature-themed temporary tattoos in the mail. Please do this! We are delighted each time a child completes the challenge and wish to congratulate them personally.
