About Freeman Property
Salt Pond Areas Bird Sanctuaries Inc. added to its land holdings in 2008 with the purchase of 5.4 acres on Route 28A in North Falmouth, not far from the intersection with Route 151. The land trust purchased the property from Margaret Freeman, who grew up in a house across the street. Her father, Manuel Francis Silvia, farmed strawberries in the field east of the house in the early 1900s.
A Salt Pond sign marks the entrance to the conservation area, and trails are available, with room to park one car in the small driveway.
