About the Wildlife Corridor
A wildlife corridor along the northern moraine is protected under the town zoning bylaws. The wildlife overlay district is a corridor on the east side of Route 28. It extends south from Route 151, along the Cape Club golf course and Ballymeade Estates, to town open space above Thomas Landers Road.
When the town purchased 115 acres around the Wyldewood subdivision from CLSV Associates, the developers of Ballymeade, the deal included a deeded easement for a small parking area and access to the wildlife corridor on Route 151, not far from Route 28. That access is the northernmost entrance to the 11-mile Moraine Trail.
