The 300 Committee is excited to introduce our two new TerraCorps members for the 2026-27 service year: John Alessandro and Alayna Krempa. Both John and Alayna began their service with TerraCorps on September 8th of this year, and will serve until July of 2027.

Alayna Krempa:

Alayna (Uhh-Lay-Nah) is originally from Bucks County Pennsylvania. She studied Ecology at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. This past July, she completed an 11-month term of service with AmeriCorps Cape Cod, where she collaborated with a group of like-minded young people to complete various land management and environmental education projects across Cape Cod's fifteen towns. One of her main hobbies includes running, and you may see her on regular trail runs.

John Alessandro:

John hails from Quincy, Massachusetts and attended UMASS Amherst, where he studied Natural Resources Conservation. This past summer, he interned as a Restoration Coordinator with the Friends of Lake Warner, where he assisted with restoration projects such as removing invasive water chestnut. He also has experience with wildlife monitoring and tracking, leading guided hikes, and other outdoor adventures. In his free time, he enjoys sports and outdoor recreation such as volleyball, soccer, and kayaking.

Both John and Alayna are excited to develop and plan their own capacity building projects, which will be based around their specific interests. Some topics of interest for them include river herring, wildlife monitoring with trail cameras, and vernal pools. They will serve as an instrumental part of our stewardship program, assisting with Coffee Clean Ups, Trails Crews, and other stewardship events.

The 300 Committee is excited to have them!
